FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD!

We've started a new topic this month: FOOD! Here is a selection of songs about food. Bon appétit!

This first video is of a song called Food Glorious Food from the musical "Oliver!" A workhouse in 19th century London, a lot of hungry boys and a song about how much they love food.

The next song is a jazz standard called Watermelon Man, sung by the great Jimmy Hendricks (don't confuse with the great guitarist Jimmi Hendrix).

Finally, a more modern song by the popular singer/songwriter Jack Johnson. It's called Banana Pancakes. MMMMMMmmmmm, I'm getting hungry!

THE BEATLES IN ART CLASS!

In our art classes we are working on illustrations of 4 different Beatles songs: Penny Lane, Obladi-oblada, Octopus's Garden and Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Each half group is making 6 illustrations for one of the songs. We're making them using paper maché to give them volume. Should be great when finished!

Sorry I couldn't find an original Beatles video of Obladi-oblada...you will have to be satisfied with the cover version.

The Octopus's Garden is a version sung by one of the original Beatles: Ringo Starr.

Finally, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, not the original but at least you have the lyrics to sing along.
